 Greater Pasadena USBC

The past few months have been exciting for our Association.  We have hosted our Hall of Fame Banquet to a record number of attendees.  We have concluded our Womens and Open City Championship Tournaments.  We have even received a national media award from the USBC.

I know everybody here is concerned about the Standings issue.  Armadilla holds the standings on the League PC.  There is only one board member allowed to access this PC.  While Armadilla does not mind the arrangement.  It is an uncomfortable liability if something were to happen to the PC.  We are currently working with Armadilla on a direct upload of the standings feature on Bowl.com.  The league software will do an auto upload and we will just supply the link.  This feature should the working at the start of summer.  Thanks for your understanding.  Once in place the standings will be current as the scores are entered in the computer.

The GPUSBC Hall of Fame Banquet continues to gain support every year.  This year the inductees included Jimbo Evans, Karen Roberts and, John Sauter.  With over 200 in attendance to support and celebrate their achievement.  We would like to thank each and everyone of you that make this event so special.

Every year the USBC has a national competition.  Each local and state bowling associations display the contributions they made to their represented members.  The winners are decided by a group of judges at the national level.  This is not a simple one day decision but, a month long process where the judges review, research and debate their findings.  This year our association was awarded 3rd Place for Overall Communications.  This includes the Web Site, Lane Books, and local newspaper reports.  This is a wonderful honor.  Next year we intend to up the bar.  I can also say this web site will improve in the weeks to come.  But none of this would have been possible without the support of all our members.  And a Special thanks to all board members who have worked so hard.  Thank you so much!  Check out the local newspaper article. http://www.hcnonline.com/articles/2009/04/14/pasadena_citizen/sports/041209_briefs.txt
