2010 GPUSBC Open Tournament

The GPUSBC Board adopted rule changes for the Open tournament that WILL affect each and every bowler, and changes procedures for payments etc.

1.  All entry fees must accompany the forms as they are turned in... no longer will entrants be allowed to turn in an entry, or multiple entries and "settle up" later.

2.  Singles MUST be bowled with your first doubles event... does not matter if your singles was paid with another team bowling later and you are on an extra doubles team bowling earlier... your singles must be bowled with your first doubles.

3.  Only re-entries will be allowed after the deadline date has passed.  All re-entry team members/ doubles bowlers must meet the eligiblity rule and have been entered into the tournament prior to the deadline.

4.  The divisions have been reduced from five (2 years ago), to three (last year) to now only two... Scratch and Handicap.  Handicap Division is 90% of 200 and only open to teams with a 799 or less average, Doubles teams with a 399 or less average and singles/ all events to 199 and under averages.  The Scratch Division is open/ optional to any averages of bowlers/ teams/ doubles, and entering the scratch event must be declared on the entry form.  The handicap division is only open to those under the average cap...

These changes have been made in an effort to return "prestige" to the tournament.... the Board had concerns that certain transgressions and occurences in the past couple of years had a negative reflection on the tournament, and bowlers should be held accountable to turning in their entries with their fees and establishing rules to return credibility to the event.  We realize this may cost entries but, bowlers are bound to turning in fees and deadlines to state and national tournaments and nobody seems to have issue with those events requiring them to so.

Thanks, and we hope you support our annual tournaments.
