Nomination forms were available at Armadilla Lanes and on this website.
Nominations are accepted from ANYONE, the only requirement is the bowler must be 40 years old on August 1 the year of nomination and must have been a member for 15 years.
Bowlers are nominated in two categories, Outstanding Performance and Meritorious Service.
If nominated for Performance, it is not a requirement to ever have performed any service and vice versa if nominated for Service, one is not required to have been an outstanding perfomer.
This year, four (4) nominations were received.
The Pasadena Bowling Hall of Fame has elected to induct a maximum of two (2) inductees per year, based on 2/3 vote of membership in attendance at the voting meeting. Should there be posthumous nominations, a maximum of one (1) may be inducted based on 2/3 vote. Voting is conducted on a majority basis. Since the membership has indicated two (2) inductees may be inducted, voting is conducted until each position is filled, or, all candidates have been considered. Should there be no candidate receiving 2/3 vote, the candidate with the lowest vote total each round is dropped until there is 2/3 vote, or no remaining candidates.
Jeff Wood was nominated by Don Parnell, a Pasadena Bowling Hall of Fame member.
When considering a bowler's accomplishments, each voting member of the Hall of Fame uses their own personal criteria for evaluating the data. There are some that put more emphasis on local accomplishments as opposed to state or national, and there are others that feel just the opposite.
I can tell you, the Hall of Fame membership is an honor, and each member undertakes their responsibilities with pride.
Should you wish to identify yourself, I would be glad to discuss this with you further, but, as it appears you wish to hide behind your computer screen I could really care less about your "opinions".
