Re: 2010 Pasadena Bowling Hall of Fame

Yes Congratulations to Jean and Jeff.  I am very disappointed about Jimmy Young not getting in.  I just don't understand the Pasadena Bowling HOF not recognizing his record.    Some people are obviously voting by feelings.  Can you see what he has done in his career.  He also has done more than anyone else in Pasadena for bowling.  He brought All the Pro-Tours to Pasadena.  No one else even tried.  Listed are some of his outstanding performances.

1997 & 1999 Professional Bowling Association Pat Patterson Award

2000 Industed into Houston Bowling HOF

2003 SASBA Rookie of Year

3-Time State Champion in Texas

1-Time State Champion in Louisiana

14-Time City Champion - Houston/Pasadena

5 Year Member of Brunswick Pro Staff

2 Year Member of Ebonite Pro Staff

3 SASBA Titles

2006 - 1 Time PBA Champion-Lake Classic-Indiana

Member of Professional Bowling Association

Re: 2010 Pasadena Bowling Hall of Fame

I can only speak for myself, but, I agree, Jimmy Young deserves a spot in the HoF.

However, it has been a couple of years since he had been nominated and both Jean and Jeff were runner-ups last year.... I think the tendency has been for those that miss out, as long as they are nominated every year, there is more time for the accomplishments to really be appreciated and ultimately... recognized.

I hope Jimmy is not too disappointed and hopefully he will be recognized soon.  He did have alot of support in the vote, just fell short...

Re: 2010 Pasadena Bowling Hall of Fame

It would have been a nice boost for him.  He has had a bad year.  He had to move for work in Louisiana.  He has been taking care of his 90 year old Dad.  His wife died 6 months ago...But I don't want him to get in because of pity.. he deserves.  I will put his name in every year as long as I am here.
