I would just like to post that I agree with Thelma on this issue... the voting process is democratic and as I had mentioned in another post, each Hall of Fame member processes the data with their own values applied.
Jean has, honor scores, Pasadena, Houston City and State titles to her credit. She was the longtime coach of UH bowling teams and is one of the best coaches and teachers around... she was nominated by a Hall of Fame member.
Jimmy Young was nominated and has state, city and a National PBA title, in addition, he also brought a national PBA and PWBA tournament stops to Pasadena, as well as hosted numerous PBA Regionals and SASBA tournaments... he also was a sponsor of Special Olympics and other charitable organizations hosting Pro Ams and other events... nominated by teammate and friend.
Jeff Wood has city titles and a huge amount of honor scores (300's- 800's etc) to his credit... he is on the GPUSBC Board and volunteers on Saturday mornings with the Youth... nominated by a Hall of Fame member...
I am hesitant to identify the other nominee for I don't know if she is ever told by her husband when he nominates her, but, she has a couple of state and city wins, is an accomplished bowler with an average much higher than normal for a woman, but, has zero honor scores and is credited with three 700 series.
I think the Pasadena Bowling Hall of Fame made the correct decision with their selections.
Remember, being passed over is not a rejection of one's accomplishments. There were several comments during the meeting of how each of these bowlers was worthy of recognition... and the choice for 2010 was made.
