Jeffrey W. Clark
Jeffery Wayne (Jeff) Clark was born in Hamilton, Ohio on November 22, 1960 to Marvin and Sue Clark; he has one (1) brother, Brian. The family moved to Pasadena in 1963. Jeff attended Pasadena schools, graduating from Sam Rayburn High in 1979, where he had lettered in swimming and band. Jeff has worked for Charter Roofing, a commercial roofing company for 18 years. Jeff’s parents bowled at old Pasadena Lanes, he was first introduced to bowling by accompanying them to their league. At age eight (8), Jeff joined his first AJBC league at Meadowcreek Lanes, bowling for three (3) years before taking up baseball during his teen years. Jeff returned to the sport of bowling after running into David Brown, a friend from his youth bowling days, he recruited Jeff into the Foley’s League at Meadowcreek, and the rest as they say is history. About this time, Jeff met David and Jimmy Fields at San Jacinto College. Knowing each other from Meadowcreek Lanes, the foursome began practicing and improving their games. They bowled leagues, No Taps and other tournaments together for the next several years. A competitive bunch of friendly rivals, the group inspired each other into becoming very good bowlers. Sarcasm, insults and practical jokes were the norm, but, beneath all of the horseplay, was a respect and desire for each of the group to advance to the next level. The next level for Jeff came in 1985, when a local businessman, Paul Marcaccio, offered to sponsor him in some PBA Regional Tournaments. Jeff did very well, finishing second place in his second tournament entered. Eventually, he spent part of 1986 on the national Tour, however, due to sponsorship issues had to come home midway through the season. Jeff’s excellence on the lanes began on March 30, 1984 with an 835 series bowled at Mimosa Lanes. At the time, this was the third highest series ever bowled in Houston. The following week, he had his 1st 300 game at Bellfort Lanes. Jeff has since compiled an impressive resume’ of achievements, 30- 300 games, 15-299’s, 4- 298’s, 18- 11-in-a-row games, add in 16- 800 Series (857 high) and a composite average of 228 for the last 10 years. Jeff also has a “SPORT” 299 game to his credit. Other achievements include a Texas State Doubles title (1986), State Mixed All Events Champion (2006), 7- local & City Championship tournament wins in different categories. He has been a part of several teams that have set “record scores”. Jeff has earned 10- silver and 4- Bronze achievement medals at the National Tournament, where from 2001 thru 2004 he had the 38th highest average in the nation (217.5) among thousands of entrants. Jeff Clark has established a 20+ year history of accomplishment and consistency that is virtually unrivaled by any bowler in Pasadena bowling history. He is quick to offer congratulations to fellow competitors, reasonable suggestions and formats for tournaments and serves two leagues as President. We are proud to welcome Jeff Clark as the newest member of the Pasadena Bowling Hall of Fame. |
