Who's who in the Spotlight
Its time to get to know our fellow GPUSBC members and their accomplishments. Check out the different spotlights for teams, seniors, & youth bowlers. Spotlight awards are either chosen at random or for specific accomplishments.
The members of the Mooners team have bowled together for 4 years. The team name originated from Randy mooning everyone at the Texas Ten Pin in Schulenburg! One of their favorite things about bowling is the competition between each other. Aside from bowling, hunting and a love of cars, are also amungst their favorite past times.

Sharon Hazlett
Lou and Phillip have been bowling since 1989. Over a decade later, Joann joined the group in 2008. Lastly, just this year, Sharon, began bowling as a member of the team. Their team name, "Hopefulls" came from a discussion in 1989. Their compatability, coupled with getting some exercise, is what they enjoy most about the sport of bowling. In addition to bowling, the love to travel and participate in other sports.

This is the first year they have bowled together. The team name was inherited from past team members. Their comaraderie and how much they enjoy each other's company is what truly makes them the "fun bunch." In addition to bowling, Rnell is a bingo player, Leta sews and quilts, Eloise like to read and watch her grandchildren play multiple sports and dance, and lastly, D.J. loves to travel, watch active grandkids, and hang out w/friends.

The team has bowled together for 2 years so far, however Ann & Sandy have bowled for nine years with each other. Sandy came up with their team name and the reason the love to bowl together most is simply friendship. They love to dance, play cards, and gamble in addition to bowling.
Ashley Lawley has had a great 2010-2011 bowling season so far. Starting with the Texas State Youth Tournament in the summer where she had one of the top eight scratch series, to qualify for the Masters and Queens Tournament where she finished second. By winning her first Junior Gold tournament in Conroe, she received an entry to bowl in Las Vegas in July, when she will also be bowling the Youth Open Tournament. In February, Ashley was notified that she had been elected into the Texas Bowling Hall of Honor as the top female youth in the state for 2010-11. Induction ceremonies will in Round Rock May 21st at the Texas State USBC Bowling Round Up. On March 5th, she became the first female youth bowler in Pasadena to bowl an 800 series, with games of 257-269-286 for an 812 series. Also in March, Ashley qualified 3rd in her high school regionals at Texas City to bowl in the Texas High School State tournament.

Jeremy started bowling at the age of 7. His favorite bowler is his dad. He decided to begin bowling to have fun. He also likes to ride bikes and play games. Jeremy bowled a very nice 136 a week ago, for his very first 100+ game.
